What are your areas of expertise?

My specialties include anxiety, depression, infertility, grief and loss, self-image, as well as a variety of issues involved with children and families.

What is your main goal when working with a client?

My main goal is always the client’s main goal. Many times in life, we find ourselves consumed with worry, fear, anxiety or self doubt. Life is messy and I want to help. I want to encourage my clients to release the tight fist they have around their world. With me, you can build a trustworthy, care-filled bond that will assist you on your journey to renewal.

What is your approach and what methods do you employ?

I am an out-of-the-box therapist who believes that transformation comes when we are able to experience a trusting environment of love and compassion as we work through our problems.

What age groups do you most often work with?

I have worked with all age groups, ranging from age 5-80. I enjoy connecting with a wide variety of clients.

Are you passive or active in the session? What can a client typically expect sessions to be like while working with you?

Therapy sessions look different from week to week, as well as client to client. How therapy looks for you will depend upon your specific goals, as well as your personality. Some things you should expect to experience are validation, honest feedback, support, accountability and encouragement. I do my best to check in periodically with each client in order to get feedback on how they are experiencing the therapy sessions, as well as input on specific things they would like to change or eliminate.

What is your background and what are your credentials?

Currently, I am a licensed registered mental health intern in the final stages of attaining full licensure in the state of Florida.

I grew up as a military brat living in 6 different states and Germany by the age of 18. This allowed me to learn to quickly create bonds and connections with a wide variety of people from varying backgrounds. Family is important to me so I do enjoy my roles as a wife, daughter, sister and auntie to 3 nieces and one nephew! In my free time I love to work out and hang out with friends. Other things I love to do are read, drink coffee, spend time with my husband and travel.

What is the reason you decided to get into counseling?

I began my career in education. Soon after, that I realized I had an even greater passion for working with my students and their families through the significant social and emotional issues that come with life. This inspired me to fervently pursue a career in counseling.

Tell us about your education.

I received my undergraduate degree in education in 2007. After spending some time working for the education system I moved forward to attain a Masters in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary in 2010.
