What are your areas of expertise?

I enjoy working with hurting and confused people who are looking for an empathetic ear to help them on their journey. Whether an individual, couple, or a family; I like to help people investigate their hurt and brokenness and discover their path to healing and health.

What is your main goal when working with a client?

Understanding the client’s needs and goals is paramount.  Helping the client achieve what they desire from the sessions is the measure of success.

What is your approach and what methods do you employ?

I generally prefer a person-centered approach to counseling using a variety of techniques adapted to the personality and communication style of each client. I believe the relationship between the counselor and the client is critical to success.

What age group do you most often work with?

I have worked with ages from 6 to 90 and I have enjoyed working with all ages.

Are you passive or active in the session? What can a client typically expect sessions to be like while working with you?

I am engaged with the client in session.  I like to ask questions which allow the client to explore and think differently about their challenges.

What is your background and what are your credentials?

I am in the process of transitioning career after 25 years as a business analyst and consultant. Although business is fun, working with people was the most enjoyable and fulfilling for me.

I have worked with people for a number of years in a ministry setting.  Most recently I have been a volunteer with hospice working as a grief counselor for children and adolescents.

What is the reason you decided to get into counseling?

I decided to get into counseling because I love people and their stories.  I am the person who sits next to you on a plane and loves to hear about your life.  I enjoy getting to know a person’s story and being a sounding board.

During difficult times in my life I have turned to counseling and found it to be a tremendous benefit.  I want others to be able to have similar benefits if they so choose.

Tell us about your education.

I completed my Master of Arts in Professional Counseling with Liberty University in 2016. I also graduated with a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry from Urshan Graduate School of Theology in 2016.
